Xtra Normal

So we had a staff meeting last week and our art Teacher decided instead of getting up there and just talking out ears off about a project he would like to have at our school, he decided to use technology.  He made a video for us from the Xtra Normal website.  Since I am in this class I of course decided that I needed to take a look at it for myself!!  It is amazing.  I am still new at it but for fun during snack time my class and I played around with it a little!!  I think it could be a great way for a student to do an oral presentation without having to stand up there and talk the whole time.  I just see many possibilities to it and I am glad our Art teacher introduced us to this!!

Here is my attempt at one:

  1. Anne,

That was very cool. I liked the double fist pump at the end! haha I have been wanting to use xtranormal in my class for some time but I keep forgetting to tell the IT guys that I want it installed. You are inspiring me to finally try it out.

  2. This looks really fun!! Is it easy to use, and did you let your students try it out themselves? My students often create extra projects for their weekly reading homework, and I could see some of them really getting into this! Thanks for sharing!

  3. Thanks for the link to a great site. Sometimes I feel that my students are done listening to be go on and on and on, maybe they will listen to one of these guys! I like Jessica's idea about having the kids create one of their own - maybe for a research project or book review?

  4. I have not let my students do one yet. The teacher who gave me this site said something about paying 50 cents for each student to use it. Not sure about that, I will have to look into it more. I love the idea thought of having them use it for their weekly reading homework. I think there are a lot of possibilities with this!!

  5. I would love to introduce this to my students. They love cartoon voices. Not sure however how I could integrate this into our subjects. If you have any ideas I would love to hear them.
